No. 2100025) <br />Request for Proposals <br />Dear Selection Committee Members: <br />Shrewsberry & Associates is pleased to submit it’s Letter of Interest to provide professional services for the City of <br />South Bend’s Safe Routes to School Project in the Our Lady of Hungary Neighborhood. Our firm has completed several <br />pedestrian improvement projects in Indiana ranging in size and scope. We look forward to providing the same level of <br />commitment to this project. <br />7321 SHADELAND STATION, SUITE 160 INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46256 317.841.4799 SHREWSUSA.COM <br />CIVIL ENGINEERING LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES CERTIFIED DBE/MBE <br />Shrewsberry recently completed professional engineering services <br />on South Bend’s School Zone Flashing Beacon Project (INDOT Des. <br />1801240), which includes 30 schools across the city, and is currently <br />being constructed. Similar to this RFP, the project sought to improve <br />safety by replacing static school zone speed limit signage with flashing beacons, and <br />upgrading all other static school zone signage.. The project allowed Shrewsberry to get <br />to know South Bend staff and gain familiarity with standards and procedures. <br />Shrewsberry engineer Mark St. John will serve as project manager, for <br />this Safe Routes to School project. In addition to his familiarity with <br />the City of South Bend, Mark has extensive experience with pedestrian <br />improvement projects of all sizes and complexities. He has worked on <br />over 14 curb ramp projects in the last five years.
