�tmatt rr Nit part <br /> COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br /> In tilt Q ommon & uctl of tip Ott of*until ilea: <br /> The October 12 , 1987 meeting of the Committee of the Whole was <br /> called to order by its Chairman, Councilman Ann Puzzello, at <br /> 6 :30 p .m. in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included : Councilmen : Serge, Braboy, <br /> Puzzello, Beck, Taylor, Zakrzewski, Paszek, Barcome, and Voorde ; <br /> John Ford, Jim Cook, Gary Starr, members of the news _media, and <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, <br /> Councilman Puzzello noted that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> review Bill No. 96-87 , which would anex and bring within the <br /> boundaries of the city of South Bend, certain real property lo- <br /> cated within German Township . <br /> Mr. Ford, the Attorney for the petitioner, noted that the area in <br /> question was approximately ninety (90) acres located at the <br /> intersection of Portage and Cleveland Roads. He further noted <br /> that thirty (30) percent of the property abutted city property. <br /> He noted that the petitioner believed that there was greater <br /> potential for development if the project was within the city <br /> limits. <br /> Mr. James Cook then showed a diagram of the area in question. <br /> Following further discussion, Councilman Serge made a motion, sec- <br /> onded by Councilman Paszek, that Bill No . 96-87 be recommended <br /> favorably to Council.
