Qimnmtttrr apart <br /> Mu tip (ltamuwn Qicinu l of tip Qtig of*mall limb: PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE <br /> The October 13, 1986 meeting of the Public Safety Committee <br /> was called to order by the Chairman, Councilman Robert Taylor at 4 :15 <br /> p.m. in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen Serge, Braboy, Beck, <br /> Puzzello, Taylor, Zakrzewski, Voorde, Paszek, and Barcome; Burch <br /> Provart, Chief Luther Taylor, members of the news media and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Taylor noted that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> review Bill No. 103-86 which would amend Chapter 9 of the Municipal <br /> Code and update various sections regarding fire prevention. <br /> The Council Attorney noted that the bill would basically bring <br /> into compliance with the new State law addressing fire prevention. <br /> Chief Luther Taylor and Burch Provart noted that the bill would <br /> officially adopt the Indiana Fire Prevention Code which were formally <br /> housed in old regulations 5 and 7. <br /> Following questions by the Committee, Councilman Beck made a <br /> motion seconded by Councilman Voorde to recommend Bill No. 103-86 <br /> favorably to Council. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> Councilman Voorde noted that there was a notice of a meeting <br /> to be held in Elkhart on October 29th with regard to the new State laws <br /> in this area. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committe the <br /> meeting was adjourned at 4 : 25 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Robert Taylor, Chairman <br /> IRK. ....
