cemnmtttrr smart <br /> en tit (finunwti (Outwit Df tlir ettv Df Santll *to: PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> The September 22, 1986 meeting of the Personnel and Finance <br /> Committee was called to order by its chairman, Councilman Ann <br /> Puzzello at 4 : 30 p.m. in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen Serge, Braboy, <br /> Barcome, Zakrzewski, Puzzello; Brian Hedman, Carol Sanders, Bonnie <br /> Strycker, Dale Balsbaugh, members of the news media and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Puzzello noted that the first item on the agenda <br /> was to review Bill No. 97-86 which would appropriate $13,000 from <br /> the Improvement Fund of the Morris Civic Auditorium. <br /> Mr. Brian Redman noted that the funds in this Fund were <br /> those received from the 50 cents per ticket per user plus any <br /> matching grants from such associations as the Broadway Theater <br /> League, etc. <br /> The money would be used for two projects, namely: the <br /> • replacement of the stage deck which is a wood top layer which would <br /> be replaced with yellow pine. He noted that the average life of <br /> a stage deck is 12-15 years and the present one has lasted 32 years. <br /> The second project would be to bring the electrical wiring <br /> for the projectors up to code with regard to A/C electrical <br /> requirements. <br /> Councilman Paszek noted some concern with regard to the use <br /> of yellow pine in borings, however it was explained that the floor . <br /> should last about 15 years. <br /> Following further discussion by the Committee, Councilman <br /> Serge made a motion seconded by Councilman Braboy to recommend <br /> Bill No. 97-86 favorably to Council. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> • <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 98-86 which would vacate <br /> Fund No. 91 and transfer the funds to the Youth Service Bureau of <br /> St. Joseph County, Inc. <br /> Carol Sanders noted that. she is seeking authority to write <br /> checks against the account so that it may be closed out and proceeds <br /> given to the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County, Inc. <br /> Following favorable comments from the Council, Councilman Serge made <br /> a motion seconded by Councilman Paszek that Bill No. 98-86 go to <br /> Council favorably.
