Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand gave a brief outline of the firefighters <br /> contract. <br /> Council Member Serge made a motion that Bill No. 73-86, as recommended by <br /> the Wage Committee go to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member <br /> Beck. The motion carried. <br /> Michael Vance, Controller, indicated that Bill No. 75-86, was the salary <br /> bill for Teamsters and non-union personnel. He indicated there was a <br /> reduction in sick time, vacation and holidays. He then gave a brief <br /> outline of the contract. He indicated there would be a substitute bill <br /> changing some job titles. A discussion was held on the salaries for the <br /> City Clerk' s office. Council Member Beck made a motion that the bill <br /> receive no recommendation, seconded by Council Member Paszek. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> Craig Hartzer, Deputy Mayor, indicated Bill No. 76-86 would provide a <br /> position of civilian manager for the Communication Department. He <br /> indicated they were upgrading the department and by hiring a civilian they <br /> could put more officers on the street. Council Member Barcome made a <br /> recommendation that the bill be amended to have a minimum salary of <br /> $27,000 and a maximum salary of $34,500. Council Member Serge made a <br /> motion to accept this recommendation, and give this bill a favorable <br /> recommendation, seconded by Council Member Braboy. The motion carried. <br /> Council Member Beck made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member <br /> Serge. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m. <br />
