In light of this' the Council Attorney
briefly reviewed the bill. She noted that the bill would appropriate
$83,500 for the following items: a payment of $64,000 for the Peter Pirsch
Quint (second lease payment) ; a payment of $16,000 on ambulance cab and
chassis, . $2,000 for various supplies needed for the ambulance, and $1,500
need for various contractural items.
Councilman Taylor noted that in light of the absence of the Fire Chief,
that he would entertain a motion of sending the bill without recommendation
to the full Council. Councilman Beck made a motion to that effect which was
seconded by Councilman Serge. The motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Voorde then noted that he attended the Lincolnway West
Business Association which had concerns about "crime and law enforcement"
and also had attended the Mayor' s Council on Older Adults which requested
an update on the "status of the- Guardian Angels" and juvenile crime.
Councilman Taylor stated that he had already been in touch with the Police
Department and he would take Councilman Voorde's recommendation under
advisement. It was Councilman Taylor' s understanding that the City
Administration had already been in contact with each of these groups.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting
was adjourned at 4 :15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Councilman Robert Taylor
Chairman
•
•
•e•[ •sees o4OMP.
