eattunmlmnt itt part <br /> tun to ennui= Mound( pf to mug of Snug stub: PARKS COMMITTEE <br /> The May 12, 1986 meeting of the Parks Committee was called to order <br /> by its chairman Councilman James Barcome at 3 :45 p.m. in the Council <br /> informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilman Serge, Beck, Braboy, Paszek, <br /> Puzzell, Zakrzewski, Voorde, and Barcome; James Seitz, Carl. Stevens, and <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Barcome noted that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> discuss Bill No. 50-86 which would appropriate $82,500 from the Park <br /> Maintenance Fund to Account No, 427 Motor Equipment for the purchase of <br /> various Park Department Vehicles. <br /> Mr. James Seitz then introduced Mr. Carl Stevens, Assistant Superintendent <br /> who review the bill for the Committee. <br /> Mr. Stevens noted that the $82,500 would purchase five pickup trucks, <br /> one step van, one van and one car. He noted that these vehicles were in <br /> "very poor condition because of age and mileage. " It was further noted. <br /> that the letter accompanying the bill dated April 18th and signed by Mr. <br /> . Seitz set forth the year of the vehicle, type of vehicle and the mileage.. <br /> It was further noted that the oldest vehicle was a 1968- pickup truck and <br /> the vehicle with the most mileage was . a pickup truck with approximately <br /> 169 ,000 miles. <br /> Following discussion by the Committee,. Councilman Paszek made a <br /> motion seconded by Councilman Zakrzewski that Bill No. 50-86 go to Council <br /> favorably. The motion passed unanimously.. <br /> Councilman Serge questioned whether bids had been taken and he was <br /> informed that the legal department was considering whether they could be <br /> "piggybacked"with a bid taken earlier by the Board of Public Works.
