• <br /> thnntattnn hrpnrt <br /> Wu tilt Mammon (QOunt% of tijr Olitn 00,3110 $tLtd: PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br /> The April 1, 1986 meeting of the Public Works Committee was called <br /> to order by its chairman, Councilman Serge at 4 : 00 p.m. in the Council <br /> informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Beck,_ Puzzello, Zakrzewski, <br /> Voorde, Paszek, Barcome and Serge; John Leszczynski, members of the news <br /> media, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Mr. Leszczynski then reviewed Bill No. 26-86 which would appropriate <br /> 8850,000 from Revenue Sharing for the 1986 Alley and Paving Program. <br /> He noted that $165,000 of this amount would be used to repair Bendix Drive <br /> north of Lincolnway where the two center lanes are dropping approximately <br /> four (4) inches. He noted that it was a problem of compaction. He also <br /> noted that $10, 000 would be used for Chapin Street signalization. <br /> The $325, 000 for the alley program would be approximately 1/4 of the <br /> anticipated alleys, and noted that the alley program is a 4-1/2 year <br /> program. <br /> Following discussion, Councilman Beck made a motion seconded by <br /> Councilman Paszek that Bill No. 26-0,6- go to Council favorably. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> Mr. Leszczynski then reviewed Bill No. 30-86 which would <br /> appropriate -$300,000 of LRS monies for paving materials. He noted that <br /> a total of $800,000 would be used for paving materials in 1986. This <br /> would be:.one of the largest programs in recent years. He noted that <br /> because of decreased oil prices that the City would take advantage of <br /> the rates. Following discussion, Councilman Barcome made a motion <br /> seconded by Councilman Paszek that Bill No. 30-86 go to Council favorably. <br /> The motion passed. <br /> Mr. Leszczynski then reviewed Bill No. 31-86 which would appropriate <br /> a $150, 000 of LRS monies for pavement improvements. He noted that a <br /> fiberized program would be used. <br /> Following discussion, Councilman Barcome made a motion seconded <br /> by councilman Beck that Bill No. 31-86 go to Council favorably. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> Mr. Leszczynski then reviewed Bill No. 32-86 which would appropriate <br /> $35,000 of LRS monies for design engineering for traffic signals at <br /> Jackson and Miami and Ewing and Ironwood-. <br /> Several Councilmen spoke in favor of the bill. Councilman Barcome <br /> then made a motion seconded by Councilman Paszek that Bill No. 32-86 go <br /> to Council favorably. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> Mr. Leszczynski then reviewed Bill No. 33-86 which would <br /> appropriate $30,000 of LRS monies for State Road 23 and Olive Street <br /> widening and signalization.
