tiumntttn apart <br /> • <br /> tiln the (QDnuiwn Monad of Up ettg of nut lend: PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> The August 6 , 1985 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee <br /> was called to order by:.its Chairman, Councilman Ann Puzzello at 1: 30 p.m. <br /> in. the Council informal meeting room <br /> Persons in attendance included, Councilmen Braboy, Serge, Puzzello, <br /> Zakrzewski, and Voorde, Michael Vance, Carol Sanders, Bob Niezgodski, Bob <br /> Goodrich, Dave Sypniewski,Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand and the individuals <br /> listed below each department. <br /> Councilman Puzzello noted that the purpose of the meeting scheduled <br /> for August 6th through August 9th were to review Bill Nos. 94-85 and <br /> 95-85 which address the City budgets for 1986 and the levying of taxes <br /> and the fixing of the tax rate for purposes of raising revenue. <br /> The Committee then reviewed the following budgets. <br /> PARK DEPARTMENT page 45 $4,008,747 2.3% increase for 1986 <br /> Mr'. Bob Niezgodski reviewed the budget. The 1985 budget is <br /> - currently at $3,917,679. <br /> It was noted that the Events1Coordinator was n.ow; funded in the <br /> City Controller' s budget. Mr. Vance stated that vehicle information was <br /> not made available and therefore is not in the budget information. <br /> Councilman Voorde noted that there are still several City vehicles in <br /> violation of the City ordinance calling for vehicle markings . Mr. Vance <br /> stated he would contact Mr. Leszczynski on this matter. Councilman Beck <br /> suggested that the present Council review the current situation. <br /> It was noted that 38 employees in the entire City have opted for <br /> maxi care insurance. The Park Department is the only one to break out <br /> this in a separate line item, namely #147.1 in the amount of $1, 800 .00. <br /> It• was noted that the City Council will have to cut the proposed <br /> budget by $142, 000. It was also noted that each Department was to provide <br /> a budget within 3% of their current 1985 budget. <br /> Councilman Beck expressed concern over the tree lawn policy, the <br /> parking situation at Potawatomi Park, air conditioning at Erskine and <br /> the lack of trimming trees around street lights and stop signs. Councilman <br /> `Serge expressed concern about the huge dead tree by Riverside and Oakwood. <br /> It was noted that Line Item No. 342 Insurance includes workmens <br /> compensation, liability and property coverage and has increased 67%. <br /> Vandalism would be under the property portion which has a $25,000 deductible. <br /> Line Item No. 399 Other Contracturals include a payment of $30,735 <br /> which is the Park Department' s share of the master lease purchase agreement. <br /> FREE PRESS olegN0 PUBLISHING CO. <br />
