Otnmmtt#rr Export 4, • aIu th a (Iloutmnn aloutuit of UERP (MIR of SnudI ittth: ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE The June 24 , 1985 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman John Voorde at 5 : 30 in the Council informal meeting room. Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Serge, Beck., Voorde,Crone, Paszek, Puzzello, and .Braboy and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrandt, The Committee then reviewed two bills set. . for review and recommendation, which would be heard at tonight's Council meeting. Councilman Voorde reviewed Bill No. 54-85 which would vacate the first east-west alley north of LaSalle running east from Main Street. He noted that the bill received a favorable recommendation from the Board of Public Works. Councilman Voorde then reviewed Bill No. 55-85 which would vacate the first east-west alley south of. Huron Street running east from Grant Street to Brookfield Street. This also received a. favorable recommendation from the Board of Public Works. It was noted in the minutes that there has been vandalism in this area and one of the four abutting property owners did file a letter in opposition to the proposed vacation. In light of the fact that neither petitioner were present, the Committee recommended that both bills be sent to the Council without recommendation. This action was formalized in a motion made by Councilman Puzzello and seconded by Councilman Serge, and unanimously passed. Council President Beck then updated the Committee regarding her letter of June 17th sent to Richard Johnson of the Area Plan Commission. His letter of June 20th states that his staff would be pleased to update the City' s Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
