GITY OF SOUTH BEND ! HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Commissioner Brazinsky (AYE): I move to deny based on everything that was spoken from Joanie <br />and you know there are other alternatives that I believe they should go back and look at and you <br />know at a later date come back to us with a different option and we look like to go ahead and <br />look at something different. <br />Commissioner Hertel (AYE): I am denying this application due to the standards and guidelines <br />and that the ideal situation is restoration over replacement. <br />Commissioner Deegan (NAY): <br />Commissioner Andrews (AYE): I denied based on the standards and guidelines which reads when <br />deteriorated beyond repair they should be replaced with units and trim to resemble the original. <br />Adam and Ross had both said that these were not deteriorated beyond repair. <br />Commissioner Gelfman (AYE): I agree with Sarah, that our staff, our director, Adam, and Ross <br />have looked at those windows and that they can be repaired appropriately and that is my denial. <br />Commissioner Wyncott (NAY): <br />Commissioner Stalheim (AYE): I voted to deny for the standards and guidelines reasons and <br />because this property is ranked as outstanding, so I believe that requires a much more stringent <br />evaluation. <br />Commissioner Downs-Krostenko (AYE): I voted no towards the proposal and for all the reasons <br />that were stated by the others who voted the same way. <br />Certificate of Appropriateness #2021-1029A-5 is denied. <br />Vote: 6-2. Six in favor, two opposed. <br />COA#2021-1029A-5 is denied. <br />Upon a motion by Commissioner Hertel, being seconded by Commissioner Brazinsky and <br />unanimously carried by vote, the applicant can reapply with a modified project and the fee will <br />be waived, was approved. <br />Vote: 8-0. Eight in favor, none opposed. <br />Motion is approved. <br />iii. 2021-1101411 West North Shore Dr West North Shore Drive LHD, Ordinance #6512-78 <br />(Audio Position: 1:41:42) <br />The staff report was presented by Adam Toering. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval. <br />The applicant was represented by: <br />Bob Jones, 411 Northshore Dr. South Bend, IN 46617 <br />Evan Morgan, 5022 W.
