He noted that last year the City
purchased 11 acres of land for this project. It is recommended to be done
in order to control some of the water flow in Clyde Creek.
Councilman Beck expressed concern whether this would actually do
the job, and noted several instances of severe flooding damage. Mr.
Leszczynski noted that there is a lawsuit pending against the City due to
the flooding. He also noted that so long as persons continue to put grass
clippings, tree limbs, etc. into the creek that it will always contribute
to the problem. Councilman Braboy hoped that it would correct the problem and
Councilman Taylor said that •it is partial solution. Mr. Leszczynski.
again stressed that the project will "quite a ways to solving the problem.
Councilman Beck then made a motion seconded by Councilman Braboy
that Bill No. 44-83 go to Council favorably. Motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Leszczynski then reviewed Bill No. 45-84 which would
appropriate $30, 000 from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund
to rebuild inlets throughout the City, This is a matching fund with
Community Development where over 100 inlets would be rebuilt by a private
contracter. The Project is aimed at improving storm water drainage in
chronic problem inlet areas.
Councilman Beck made a motion seconded by Councilman Taylor that
Bill No. 45-84 receive a favorable recommendation. The Motion passed
unanimously. The meeting was then adjourned at 5: 05 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
•
Joseph Serge, Chairman
•
•
I.ff •f fff .
