They were selected because of their invovlement
fifteen years ago regarding a report on the Morris Civic and the Palais
Royale in 1969, for their restoration of the Indiana Theater, and for their
reputation Of renovating halls which accentuate performance aspects and
historical aspects of buildings. He also noted that money from the
Indiana Arts Council, various trust proceeds -and private donations are
also being used.
Councilman Paszek questioned whether there may be a conflict of
interest since the local architect James Childs was also the co-owner of the
Palais Royale along with Bruce Bancroft. Mr. Martin noted that Mr. Childs
would be working directly for the Century Center Board.
Councilman Puzzello inquired whether a final blueprint for
renovation would result from the appropriation, and was assured that it would.
Following further discussion, Councilman Braboy made a motion
seconded by Councilman Serge that Bill No. 46-84 receive a favorable
recommendation from the Committee. The motion passed unanimously. Councilman
Beck then made a motion seconded by Councilman Braboy;..that the meeting be
adjourned. The meeting was adjourned at 4 :50 p.m.
•
Respectfully submitted,
Ann Puzzello, Chairman
.a.[ .w... IV.U.MIM. Co.
