Mountain Erpu2i <br /> ten flit Qlnmmnn QlounrlI of Or QIiug of bout!! irnd: HUr AN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVTEOPN'ENT <br /> COMMITTEE <br /> The November 5, 1954 meeting of the Human Resources and <br /> Economic Development meeting was called to order by its Chairman <br /> Councilman Eugenia Braboy at 4: 00 p.m. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Zakrzewski, Braboy, <br /> Puzzello, Beck, Serge, Paszek, Taylor and Voorde, Jon Hunt, Jack <br /> Dunfee, Ralph: Muszinski, . r. Roos , Colleen Rosenfeld, John Leszczynski, <br /> Kim Grieger, Steve McColley, Peter Veldman, members of the new media, <br /> and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Braboy then directed the Committee' s attention to <br /> the Tax Abatement Petition. Resolution 9-A for Lake Supply Co. , Inc. <br /> is requesting real property tax abatement. Its ' president, Thomas <br /> Peck was present and noted that his company presently is in Niles , <br /> Michigan and will be moving to the Bendix Drive area His operation <br /> will be in .the warehousing category. The area is zoned light <br /> industrial and no noise will be associated. Presently there are <br /> five jobs with three new jobs being created. A copy of the October <br /> 31st Department of Economic Development findings report is attached. <br /> Following discussion by the attorney, Councilman Taylor made a <br /> motion seconded by Councilman Beck that Resolution 9-A receive a <br /> favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> The Council then reviewed Resolutions 9-B and 9-C for Metal <br /> Resources Corporation represented by Jack. Dunfee. The Council Passed <br /> similar resolutions on June 14, 1934 however, the legal description <br /> has changed and therefore both Resolutions must come before the <br /> Council. A copy of the October 31, 1984 report from the Department <br /> of Economic Development is attached. Following discussion by the <br /> Committee Councilman Taylor made a motion seconded by Councilman <br /> Beck that Resolutions 9-B and 9-C go to Council favorably. The <br /> motion passed unanimously. <br /> Mrs. Rosenfeld then reviewed Resolution 9-D which would finalize <br /> the final statement of CD objectives dated October 30, 1984 (_copy <br /> attached) . Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Taylor <br /> made a motion seconded by Councilman Puzzello that Resolution 9-D <br /> go to Council favorably. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> Councilman Braboy noted that she received a copy of the report <br /> filed by the City on Sec. 504 "Handicapped Provisions" as they <br /> relate to revenue. sharing funds The Clerk' s office would be making <br /> copies for the entire council. <br /> Jon Hunt noted that the geographic areas for tax abatement are <br /> near completion and that a draft of the tax abatement ordinance <br /> would be ready for the November 19th Committee meeting. <br /> • <br /> Councilman Braboy then turned the Committee' s attention to the <br /> Western Avenue corridor project.
