Olnmmtflrr rpnri <br /> (ZIo the Cullum Olountil of ihr 0144 of enidl) lBrnb: HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC <br /> DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> The -July 9, 1984 meeting •of the Human Resources and Economic <br /> Development Committee was called to order by its chairman Councilman <br /> Eugenia Braboy at 3 :30 p.m. in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included:.Councilmen Beck, Zakrzewski, Paszek, <br /> Puzzello, Braboy, Taylor and Voorde; Hedy Robinson, and Kathleen Cekanski- <br /> Farrand, and Carol Sheetz. <br /> Councilman Braboy noted that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> review Resolution 9A which requests real property tax abatement for parcels=6 <br /> and 8 in the Monroe Sample area. Councilman Braboy handed out a copy of the <br /> report dated July 3rd from the Economic Development Committee (copy attached) . <br /> Hedy Robinson noted that the lots would be used for a future office , <br /> warehouse, and expansion of the Slutsky-Peltz Plumbing and Heating Company, <br /> Inc. The building will be 20 ,000 square feet and will be constructed by <br /> J & G Realty and Insurance Company and then it will be leased to Slutsky- <br /> Peltz. Five new permit jobs would be created and the total project cost <br /> would be $785 ,000. 00. The property is located in the Monroe-Sample <br /> Development area and also within a tax incremental financing allocation area <br /> • <br /> Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Taylor made a <br /> motion seconded by Councilman Beck that Resolution 9A go to Council favorably. <br /> The motion passed unanimously. <br /> • <br /> Councilman Braboy then reviewed the ground rules for her committee <br /> meeting set for 4:00 which would be addressing possible changes to the con.troll€ <br /> use ordinance. <br /> Councilman Voorde inquired as to when there would be further <br /> discussion on the tax abatement ordinance, and was informed. by Councilman <br /> Braboy that she had requested certain written information from Jon Hunt <br /> which would address small business incentive proganms;. As soon as this <br /> information is received and reviewed another meeting would be called. She <br /> also reminded the Council to put forth any ideas that they might have in <br /> writing. <br /> Councilman Beck then made a motion, seconded by Councilman Taylor that <br /> the meeting be adjourned.
