Trmmn Urt Cl nrt PUBLIC WORKS <br /> The June 27, .1983 meeting of the Public Works Committee was called to <br /> order by its Chairman Raymond Zielinski . in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen Harris, Zielinski, Voorde, <br /> Szymkowiak, Beck, and Serge, John Leszczynski, Dick Maginot, Jim Wensits, <br /> and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Zielinski noted that the purpose of the meeting was to review <br /> six bills which were sent to Committee for review and recommendation. <br /> Councilman Zielinski called upon Mr. Leszczynski to review each bill. <br /> Bill No. 57-83 would appropriate $85, 000 from the Cumulative Sewer <br /> Building and. Sinking Fund for the Ironwood-Ireland retention basin. The <br /> • City would acquire 11 acres of property through this transaction. Councilman <br /> Beck spoke in favor of the bill. <br /> Bill No. 56-83 would transfer $120, 000 from Account No. 222. 0 entitled <br /> Gasoline to various other accounts within the Bureau of Building Maintenance. <br /> He noted that this appropriation is necessary for the centralized communication <br /> project. <br /> Bill No 58-83 would appropriate $7,500 from the Local Road and Street <br /> Fund for the repair of the railroad tracks at-Wilbur Street off of. <br /> Lincolnway West. He noted that the Federal government pays -90% of the cost <br /> and that the $7,500 represents the City' s 10% cost. <br /> • Bill No 59-83 would appropriate $400, 000 from the Local Street and Road <br /> Fund to be used for the City' s paving and resurfacing street projects <br /> throughout the City <br /> Bill No 60-83 would appropriate $100, 000 from the Local Road and Street <br /> Fund for concrete street and curb imporvements. He noted that the exact <br /> locations had not yet been selected. <br /> Bill No 61-83 would appropriate .$17,000 from the Cumulative Sewer <br /> Building and Sinking Fund for improvements in the storm drainage along <br /> Angela Blvd. <br /> Following discussion of each of the bills by the Committee, Councilman <br /> Serge made a motion seconded by Councilman Harris that Bill No 56-83 through <br /> 61-83 be recommended favorably -to Council.
