Oturiutttttnn Mart <br /> Ohl tie (gammon Tomtit of tim ojtv of'untl1 Bra: PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br /> The January 11, 1982 meeting of the Public Works Committee was called <br /> to order by its chairman, Councilman Joseph T. Serge. at 6 :15 p.m. in the <br /> council meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included the following: Councilmen Szymkowiak, <br /> McGann, Zielinski, and Serge; Mr. John Schalliol and Kathleen Cekanski- <br /> 'Farrand.. Councilman Serge announced that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> discuss Bill No. 136-81, the vacation of Lathrop Street. <br /> Mr. John Schalliol of the St. Joseph County Airport Authority explained <br /> that the vacation was necessary for the development and expansion of the <br /> airport. He showed the Committee a map of the proposed vacation. A new <br /> Fixed Base Operator facilities will be constructed thus adding additional <br /> jobs and enhancing the services of the airport facility. He urged the <br /> Committee to make a favorable recommendation. <br /> Mr. Serge indicated his approval of the proposed vacation, and brought <br /> to the Committee 's attention the letter he had received from a <br /> remonstrator in the area. <br /> Following further discussion. the Committee unamimously recommended <br /> that Bill No. 136-81 go to Council favorably. There being no further business <br /> to come before the Committee , the meeting was adjourned at 6: 30 p.m. <br /> Respectfully Submitted., <br /> Joseph T.
