frnmmat#nr ittpnrt
c?!n 111 Qlnmmnn (IIounril of the Titg of 0outli limb: PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
The October 11, 1982 meeting of the Public Works Committee was called
to order by Councilman Joseph Serge at 4 :45 p.m. in the Council Informal
meeting room.
Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Szymkowiak, Serge, Zielinski,
Harris, Voorde, and Beck, John Leszczynski,Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand and
.Marchmont Kovas.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Bill No. 114-82 which would
appropriate $270, 000 from the CCIF account for the Jefferson Street parking
garage repairs.
Councilman Serge then read a letter from Mr. Leszcysnki giving further
background why the appropriation is needed. Conrad Associates East, an
engineering consultant firm completed a study of the garages on November 23,
1981 which indicated various repairs that were needed. It is projected
that the electrical system would be replaced and completed this fall, and
that the concrete work would be completed next spring. If this Bill would
be passed, the balance remaining in the CCIF account would be $58,000. It
was noted that CCIF revenue is received twice per year for an approximate
total of $525, 000 with payments being received in November and May. Bids
have been let and are due back to the Board of Public Works on October 25th.
Following further discussion by the Committee, Councilman Zielinski
made a motion seconded by Councilman Voorde that Bill No. 114-82 go to
Council favorably. The motion passed 4-0.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the
meeting was adjourned at 5: 00 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joseph T. Serge
Chairman
•
/11[[ /11[[[ /UOLI[NINO CO.
