Qlummtttn r#rurt <br /> gio tie Column eounrtl of Or elm of 0uuf1 crud: <br /> Older Adults Committee <br /> The July 28 , 1980 meeting of the Older Adults Committee was <br /> --) called to order by its Chairman, Councilman Richard C. Dombrowski <br /> at 4 :05 p.m. in the Council meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Councilmen McGann, Beck, <br /> Voorde, Crone, and Dombrowski; Citizen member Daniel Mohnke, Mr. <br /> Harrington, and Mr. H. J. Noel. <br /> Councilman Dombrowski explained that the purpose of the meeting <br /> was to review Bill No. 80-80 which would establish an Older Adults <br /> Council in the City. He further announced that the Bill is up <br /> for public hearing at tonight's Common Council meeting. <br /> Councilman Crone informed the Committee that she had received <br /> a recent letter from the Mayor's office suggesting the following <br /> amendments: <br /> page 2, item K insert conducting studies and" between <br /> "by" and _making <br /> 2; and <br /> � in .line 2 <br /> -- delete paragraph 2 after "by" and inset "by conducting <br /> studies on matters of concern to older adults, developing <br /> recommendations for action, if appropriate, and advocating <br /> such action. " <br /> A motion was duly made and seconded to make these amendments and <br /> unanimously carried. <br /> Discussion then took place to reverse the numbers of appoint- <br /> ments for the Mayor and the Council. Upon a motion being made and <br /> seconded, the committee voted to amend the Bill where appropriate <br /> to allow fourteen (14) members to be appointed by the Common Council, <br /> and to allow seven (7) members to be appointed by the Mayor. The <br /> Committee recommended that the Bill as amended be recommended <br /> favorably to the Council. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committee, <br /> the meeting was adjourned at 4 :30 p.m. <br /> Res•eetfully bmitted, <br /> Richard C. ocAl 'ow'ski <br /> Chairman <br /> roves pR..s rUOU$NINU CO. <br />
