Progress Meeting #7: The Engineer will coordinate and facilitate a progress meeting to <br />review with the City of South staff the plans and to ensure that project is coordinated with <br />the various departments. <br />e. Based on the input from Progress Meeting #7, the team incorporate the input the comments <br />from both the Owner as well as possible comments from the IDEM permit submittal review <br />into the final Construction Document plans and specifications. Revisions to the plans to <br />obtain approval for the Rule 5 permit as well as the IDEM permit will be made and plans <br />will be resubmitted accordingly. <br />f. The Engineer will finalize the project Cost Estimate. <br />g. Progress Meeting #8: Upon refinement of the 100% Design package and finalization of the <br />cost estimate, the Engineer will conduct Progress Meeting #8 with the City of South Bend <br />staff to present the final plans and cost estimates. <br />h. The Team will submit the 100% Submittal package to the Owner for final review and <br />comments prior to project bidding. <br />i. Deliverables for the 100% submittal to the Owner will be provided in PDF format. <br />A1.07 Bidding or Negotiating Phase - Phase One <br />1. After acceptance by Owner of the bidding documents and the most recent opinion of probable <br />Construction Cost as determined from the 100% Construction Document submittal, and upon <br />written authorization by Owner to proceed, Engineer shall: <br />a. Assist Owner in advertising for and obtaining bids or proposals for the Work and, where <br />applicable, and maintain a record of prospective bidders to whom Bidding Documents have <br />been issued. <br />b. Coordinate and facilitate a Pre-Bid Meeting with the potential bidding contractors. <br />c. Issue addenda as appropriate to clarify, correct, or change the bidding documents. <br />d. Provide information or assistance needed by Owner in the course of any negotiations with <br />prospective contractors. <br />e. Consult with Owner as to the acceptability of subcontractors, suppliers, and other <br />individuals and entities proposed by prospective contractors for those portions of the Work <br />as to which such acceptability is required by the bidding documents. <br />f. If bidding documents require, the Engineer shall evaluate and determine the acceptability <br />of "or equals" and substitute materials and equipment proposed by bidders. <br />g. Attend the Bid opening, prepare Bid tabulation sheets, and assist Owner in evaluating Bids <br />or proposals and in assembling and awarding contracts for the Work.
