• <br /> Tomtit/Mr &pat <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> Uin Toilworn Qlounril of to Titg orf'nuti1 limb: PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE <br /> The January 12, 1981. meeting of the.-Public Safety Committee was called <br /> to order by its" Chariman, Councilman Robert Taylor at 6:20 p.m. , in the <br /> Council meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Taylor, McGann, Szymkowiak, <br /> Voorde, Crone, Serge and Dombrowski; City Attorney Hill; Deputy City <br /> Attorney Eugenia Schwartz; and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br /> Councilman Taylor announced that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> review Bill No. 146-80 dealing with Smoke Detectors. He then asked the <br /> Council Attorney to review the background of the proposed bill. <br /> The Committee was informed that the amendments would close certain <br /> problem areas which have arisen since the original smoke detector ordinance <br /> was passed last spring. An amended bill was then passed out to the <br /> Committee members. The amended bill was the result of meetings which the <br /> Council Attorney had with Mrs. Schwartz of the Legal Department. Mrs. <br /> Schwartz then highlighted the proposed changes. <br /> The- Committee was advised to. substitute the amended bill for the <br /> original bill on file with the City Clerk. <br /> Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman McGann made a <br /> motion to accept the amended version and to recommend it favorably to <br /> the Council. Councilman Dombrowski seconded the motion. • The Committee <br /> voted unanimously on the motion. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committee, <br /> Councilman Serge made a motion to 'adjourn, seconded by.
