Resources and Economic <br /> Development Committee was called to order by its' Chariman, Councilman <br /> John Voorde. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Dombrowski, Beck, Crone, McGann, <br /> Voorde, Szymkowiak, Kopczynski, and Taylor; Kathrene Barnard, Marzy Bauer, <br /> Jon Hunt, James Seitz, Pat McMahon, Ann Kolata, Kevin Horton, John <br /> Leszczynski, Citizen Member Chris Davey, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Voorde announced that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> discuss the 1981 Community Development Budget. <br /> Marzy Bauer, Community Development Director, then reviewed several matters. <br /> She noted that the entitlement was reduced, and that the City would receive <br /> approximately $200, 000 less than last year. She said that further cutbacks may <br /> be made in the future, therefore the proposed budget was prepared to allow for <br /> some flexibility. <br /> Mrs. Bauer stated that there were $900, 000 of requested programs. She <br /> explained that in reviewing the requests two major criteria were applied: <br /> (1) would jobs be created; and (2) housing rehabilitation. <br /> Several handouts were then passed out and individually reviewed. These <br /> included: (1) Schedule of 1981 Application Process; (2) Copy of Budget <br /> Proposals; (3) Summaries of Outside Requests for 1981 C D B G Funds; and (4) <br /> "Update" the Community Development Newsletter. <br /> The Committee had several questions on each of the handouts. Councilman <br /> Dombrowski requested a list of proposed staff cuts. <br /> Pat Mc Mahon reviewed the Economic Development/Redevelopment Budget <br /> Summary; and James Seitz reviewed the Park and Open Space budget summaries. <br /> The Committee was advised that any problems in the proposed budget should <br /> be worked out between March 6th, when the preliminary application is <br /> submitted; and April 22nd, the deadline for submission of the final 1981 CDBG <br /> formal application to HVO. <br /> Councilman Lewis McGann made a motion to adjourn the meeting seconded by <br /> Councilman Crone.
