Qinmmtttrr arpnr# <br /> ton tip Mammon Olomuil of the fait Df fihndli iamb: PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> The August 12, 1981 meeting of the Personnel- and Finance Committee <br /> was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman Crone at 2: 00 p.m. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen: Serge, Beck,McGann,Voorde, <br /> Crone, and Szymkowiak; Jon -Hunt, Joseph Kernan, Sherrie Petz, Pat Miller, <br /> Dominic DeCosta, members of the news- media,Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, and <br /> designated department heads. <br /> CCIF <br /> City Controller Joseph Kernan reviewed the Cumulative Capital <br /> Improvement Fund (CCIF) proposed at $780,180 for the same amount as last <br /> year. <br /> ECONOMIC DEV. REVENUE BONDS <br /> Mr. Kernan then reviewed the Economic Development Revenue Bond <br /> budget proposed at $6,650, which was the same amount as 1981. This is <br /> funded by assessments on the bonds and used for the expenses of the 3-member <br /> Commission,' and attorney. Councilman Szymkowiak said he would check out <br /> for'•what the $1000 in the "Instruction" account was used. <br /> WATER WORKS <br /> John Leszczynski was then called upon to answer several questions <br /> regarding the "upgraded positions in the budget" . He noted that the <br /> department would have 137 employees in 1982 , compared to 140 in 1981. <br /> Councilman Crone questioned why the janitor was proposed at a 3% increase <br /> from $9, 312 to $9,635, rather than receiving 4. 56% plus $500 for a total <br /> of $10,237. Mr. Leszczynski said he was not a union member. <br /> Councilman Crone questioned why the position of "CLK Dispatcher II" <br /> appeared in the budget but not in the salary ordinance. She suggested that <br /> perhaps an amendment to the salary ordinance would be in order for positions <br /> appearing in the budget but not in the salary ordinance. <br /> Councilman Crone suggested to Mike Vance that a letter be sent to <br /> the PSC requesting an update on when the City could expect a decision on <br /> the proposed water rates. Mr. Vance said he had made several informal contacts <br /> by telephone, but would send a letter of inquiry. <br /> Councilman Voorde questioned several matters which would be addressed <br /> in the "Stancoti Report on Motor Vehicles" .
