CITY OF SOUTH BEND I HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />The staff report was presented by Adam Toering. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval. <br />The applicant was represented by: <br />Norrie Emmons, 23186 W Ireland Rd. South Bend, IN 46614 <br />The public was represented by: <br />N/A <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by Mary Brazinsky, seconded by David Wyncott, and unanimously carried <br />by vote, the Historic Preservation Commission APPROVES Certificate of <br />Appropriateness Application #2021-0914. <br />Vote: 5-0. Five in Favor, none opposed. <br />COA#2021-0914 is approved. <br />Commissioner Downs-Krostenko re -joins the meeting at,13:00. w <br />iii. 2021-0924 1220 East Wayne Street East Wayne Street LHD, Ordinance #7796-87 <br />(Audio Position 10:55) <br />The staff report was presented by Adam Toering. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends denial of the installation of aluminum <br />soffits and fascia. <br />The applicant was represented by: <br />N/A <br />The public was represented by: <br />N/A <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by Patrick Deegan, seconded by Eric Stalheim, and unanimously carried <br />by vote, the Historic Preservation Commission DENIES Certificate of Appropriateness <br />Application #2021-0924. <br />Commission President Gelfman clarified that, in motions for denial, Commissioners are required to <br />state their reasons for denial. Roll was called. <br />Commissioner Deegan (AYE): I voted to deny based on a lack of information for the project <br />as a whole. <br />Commissioner Wyncott (AYE): I need further information. <br />Commissioner Gelfman (AYE): I vote to deny because it goes against the standards and <br />guideline of this particular district, and we don't have enough information concerning <br />the soffit itself. <br />Commissioner Stalheim (AYE): I voted to deny for the same reasons. <br />Page 12 <br />
