Cwh iittee Report <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> The October 11, 2004 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> was called to order by its Chairperson, Dr. David Varner at 3:40 p.m. in the Council Informal <br /> Meeting Room. Dr. Vamer noted that the Committee consists of Council Members Kirsits, <br /> Pfeifer,Coleman and himself. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Dieter, Kelly,Kuspa,Varner,Puzzello, <br /> Coleman, Pfeifer, Kirsits and White; City Clerk John Voorde, Community and Economic <br /> Development Executive Director Sharon Kendall, Building Commissioner Don Fozo, City <br /> Engineer Carl Littrell,Jason Durr,Bill Schalliol,Michael Danch, Wayne Doolittle,Rita Kopola, <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand,Council Attorney. <br /> Dr. Varner noted that the petitioner for Substitute Bill No. 59-04 which is a vacation <br /> request involving Chapin Street/ Sample Street and United Drive, has requested that the Bill be <br /> continued until October 25,2004. Council Member Pfeifer made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Coleman that Substitute Bill No. 59-04 be continued until October 25, 2004, at the <br /> request of the petitioner. The motion passed. <br /> Under miscellaneous business,Dr. Varner a seven (7) page handout which included the <br /> Administration's draft of a Council web page,Bloomington City Council's web page, Columbus, <br /> Ohio City Council's web page, Detroit City Council's web page, Gary Common Council's web <br /> page, Indianapolis/Marion County City-County Council's web page, and the Mishawaka <br /> Common Council's web page (copy attached). He suggested that the Council review this <br /> material so that recommendations could be discussed for the Council's final version of their web <br /> page. Dr. Vamer then noted that he would be calling an Information and Technology Committee <br /> meeting for Wednesday, October 20,2004 at 3:30 p.m. <br /> Jason Durr of the Engineering Division then noted that he had sent a memo to the <br /> Council which addressed erosion control and illicit discharges. He would like to have 1st <br /> reading on the proposed ordinance on October 25, 2004. In response to a question from Dr. <br /> Varner he noted that EPA has established regulations and minimum requirements which will be <br /> addressed in the ordinance. He was uncertain if any of these were negotiated. <br /> City Engineer Carl Littrell stated that regulations have been passed by St. Joseph County <br /> and Mishawaka and that there was an opportunity to negotiate some of the items.
