Utilities Committee <br /> Council Member Kirsits noted that two years ago at the meeting at O'Brien Center CSO <br /> separation was discussed along with a federal grant and several other very expensive items. He <br /> asked about an update on these items. <br /> Mr. Gilot stated that they have met with representatives of IDEM and EPA. <br /> Approximately$200 million worth of projects have been discussed,however discussions and <br /> negotiations are ongoing since IDEM is pushing projects which could cost up to$600 million. <br /> Jason Dun noted that the long-term control plan is due by December 31, 2004. He noted <br /> that the City of South Bend is one of the last cities required to address such items. He noted that <br /> Michigan City is the only city who has had their plan approved. <br /> Following discussion,Council Member Pfeifer made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Kuspa that Bill No. 46-04 be recommended favorably to Council.
