Joint Meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee and the <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> The July 26, 2004 joint meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee and the Public <br /> Works and Property Vacation Committee was called to order by the Chairperson of the Public <br /> Works and Property Vacation Committee,Dr. David Varner at 5:53 p.m. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Dieter,Pfeifer, White, Kelly,Puzzello, <br /> Varner,Kuspa,'Coleman and Kirsits; City Clerk John Voorde,Rita Kopola, Terry Bland of the <br /> South Bend Tribune and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br /> Dr. Varner noted that this joint committee meeting was to begin at 4:40 p.m. Due to the <br /> lateness of the hour and the fact that the Council and Administration expressed a desire to have a <br /> representative from the City of Fort Wayne be present to discuss their procedures addressing <br /> purchasing and appropriations,he suggested that the meeting should be continued. He also <br /> noted that in light of the ongoing fire negotiations, additional time will be necessary in order to <br /> schedule a time and date when all parties could be present. <br /> Dr. Varner then suggested that Bill No. 32-04 which would amend Chapter 2,Article 7 of <br /> the South Bend Municipal Code be continued until August 23, 2004. <br /> There being no further business to come before the joint committee meeting,Dr. Varner <br /> adjourned the meeting at 5:55 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Council Member Derek D.
