e <br /> • t <br /> Joint Meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee and the <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> The August 23,2004 joint meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee and the <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee was called to order by the Chairperson of the <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee,Dr. David Varner at 4:24 p.m. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Dieter, Kelly,Varner,Kuspa, <br /> Coleman and Kirsits; Sharon Kendall, City Clerk John Voorde,Rita Kopola, Terry Bland of the <br /> South Bend Tribune and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br /> Dr. Varner noted that the joint committee meeting was called to continue the discussion <br /> on Bill No. 32-04 which addresses proposed budget,appropriation, etc. procedures. <br /> Dr. Varner suggested that the Bill be continued to the September 27, 2004 Council <br /> meeting so that the representative from Fort Wayne could have the opportunity to discuss their <br /> city's procedures in this area. A committee meeting will be called for Wednesday, September <br /> 22nd for such a presentation. <br /> Dr. Varner then passed out a memorandum from the Council Attorney dated August 23, <br /> 2004 (copy attached) setting forth sample pages from the city of Bloomington addressing their <br /> budget process. <br /> There being no further business to come before the joint committee meeting,Dr. Varner <br /> adjourned the meeting at 4:27 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Council Member Derek D.
