Jefferson Blvd. <br /> South Bend, IN 46601 <br /> Re: Alley Vacation <br /> City of South Bend, Indiana <br /> Dear Mr. Voorde: <br /> I am requesting the vacation of the remaining portion of the North —South alley lying between Madison <br /> Street and Marion Street and Main Street and Michigan Street lying within the City of South Bend,Indiana <br /> as representative of the Beacon Health System. <br /> This vacation was originally a part of Ordinace 10176-12 certified October 11,2012,but was removed from <br /> the vacation after approval by the Board of Public Works, but before approval by the Common Council. <br /> Beacon Health System has recently acquired the remaining parcel of land adjacent to this alley, not <br /> previously owned by Beacon Health System, and wishes to proceed with this vacation. <br /> The purpose of the vacation of the real property is to enhance the parking areas for the hospital staff and <br /> visitors. The vacation of these alleys will allow Memorial Hospital to reconstruct and expand their parking <br /> facilities. It is in the interest of the City of South Bend and the Beacon Health System to vacate this <br /> property. <br /> Based on these reasons,I hope that you will grant my request.
