Klosinski, P.E., Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: 121-068 Edison Road Lift Station Valve Replacements (PR-00011838) <br />Agenda Request – Quote Award <br />DATE: October 4, 2021 <br /> <br />On September 28, 2021, the Board of Public Works opened and read quotes for the subject project. <br />Division of Engineering and Division of Utilities reviewed the documents and finds the information <br />correct and complete. Attached is a full bid tabulation which includes alternate and unit pricing. <br /> <br />Base Quotes(s) ranked as follows based on price: <br /> <br />121-068 Edison Road Lift Station Valve Replacements <br />CONTRACTOR MBE Goal <br />1.2% <br />WBE Goal <br />4.3% <br />BASE QUOTE <br />HRP Construction, Inc. <br />(South Bend, Indiana) <br />0.0% <br />Trucking <br />available <br />for Unit <br />Price Work <br />3.8% <br />Traffic <br />Control <br />$64,350.00 Base <br /> <br />$52,350.00 Voluntary Alternate <br /> <br />Alternate Deduct submitted to <br />allow completion of work by <br />12/31/2021 for a $12,000 <br />discounted price. <br /> <br />The Division of Engineering recommends the award of the Voluntary Alternate Base Bid for the <br />contract for Project No. 121-068 Edison Road Lift Station Valve Replacements to HRP <br />Construction, Inc. for the Total Quote Price of $52,350.00. The voluntary alternate accepted by <br />the City of South Bend allows for the completion date of the project to shift from November 15, <br />2021, to December 31, 2021. The Bid Documents submitted has been amended for the <br />updated Voluntary Alternate pricing. <br /> <br />Unit pricing in the Contractor’s Bid Proposal shall be considered in the event of unforeseen <br />conditions. It is acknowledged by the Board’s acceptance of this bid that MBE goals and WBE <br />goals can only be met for this work if the Contractor is required to engage in unit price work <br />resulting from unforeseen conditions. With the work comprised of bypass pumping, mechanical <br />pipe fitting, and traffic control, there is limited scope to engage MBE and WBE companies. <br /> <br />Funding: Sewage Works Building Repair and Maintenance Account 641-06-605-514-436001. <br /> <br />For questions regarding the subject agenda request, contact Jacob M.
