P.C.C.P. – REMOVE AND REPLACE, UNDISTRIBUTED <br /> <br />Prevailing INDOT Standard Specification Section: 506 <br /> <br />A. General Description <br /> <br />Work for this item includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all material, equipment, labor, <br />compaction, subgrade preparation, aggregate, concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, lines and grades, <br />site restoration, lawful removal and disposal of materials and all other necessary items required to <br />provide the reinforced concrete pavement section as specified herein. <br /> <br />Contractor shall note that this is an undistributed quantity of pavement removal and replacement which <br />may or may not be included in the overall scope of work. The Owner reserves the right to distribute <br />some, all or none of the estimate quantity as future project needs require. <br /> <br />B. Limits of Removal/Replacement <br /> <br />The overall limits of removal shall be as-defined by the Owner/Engineer as future project needs require. <br />The Contractor shall not remove or damage any existing P.C.C.P. without prior authorization from the <br />Owner/Engineer. Removal/damage of existing pavement beyond the defined scope of work shall be <br />replaced as specified herein at the Contractor’s sole expense. <br /> <br />C. P.C.C.P. Patch <br /> <br />Existing concrete pavement shall be removed to an existing joint, or a full-depth neat-line sawcut <br />provided by the Contractor. P.C.C.P patch shall be in accordance with City of South Bend standard <br />specification section 2-6.1 (a). Concrete shall meet the following minimum requirements: <br /> <br />· INDOT Class ‘A’ <br />· 6% Entrained Air <br />· 4” Max Slump <br />· Coarse Aggregate shall be Limestone Only <br />· Thickness shall be equal to adjacent pavement section or 8”, whichever is greater <br /> <br />Dowelling and joint construction at interface with existing concrete pavement shall be in accordance <br />with City of South Bend standard drawings 2-13 and 2-14. <br /> <br />D. Measurement and Payment <br /> <br />The Contractor shall be paid on a per square foot basis for concrete pavement removal/replacement <br />accepted by the Owner/Engineer. <br /> <br />E.
