INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> DIVISION OF ENGINEERING <br />TO:Anne Fuchs, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works <br />FROM:Zach Hurst, Project Engineer <br />SUBJECT:Open Market Contract - Project No. 121-033 <br />VPA Athletic Court Renovations – Phase 2 <br />DATE:September 3, 2021 <br />On April 27, 2021, the Board of Public Works attempted to open quotes pertaining to the subject <br />project. Quotes were solicited from the following nine (9) firms: Sneed Construction, <br />Cornerstone Construction, 360-degree Construction, Asphalt Restoration Services, ABC <br />Asphalt, Milestone Contractors North, Rieth Riley Construction, Niblock Excavating, and <br />Ritschard Brothers. <br />No quotes were received, so an Open Market procurement was pursued at direction of the <br />Board. The original quote documentation was sent to LaPorte Construction, Northern Indiana <br />Construction, JCI Bridge Group, and again to Milestone Contractors North. Milestone <br />Contractors North was the only firm to respond after all were given a 7-day window to analyze <br />the documents. <br />Milestone Contractors North submitted a quote of $97,474.84. The quote met the M/WBE goals <br />set for the project and included a notarized non-collusion affidavit. As such, the quote is <br />complete. <br />I recommend award of the VPA Athletic Court Renovations – Phase 2 to Milestone <br />Contractors North, Inc., in the amount of $97,474.84. Funding is available through the Parks & <br />Recreation Park Maintenance Fund, by way of PR-00008729. <br />Please contact me with any questions.
