He noted that the petitioner has been in business since 1988 and is a
manufacturer of collapsible containers for the storage and transportation of fuel and water. All of
their products are manufactured in accordance with US Military specifications, with the petitioner
having contracts in excess of $10 million for collapsible containers, and a potential for an
additional $116 million in contracts through 2006. Mr. Beitzinger noted that he has provided a
substitute Bill No. 03-27 addressing the real property which now correctly lists the petitioner as
Foxtrot Realty which will be the holding company. It proposes to build a 24,000 square foot
building at a proposed cost of$600,000. New manufacturing equipment is proposed at$250,000.
The report concluded that the petitioner meets the requirements for the six(6) year real property tax
abatement criteria under § 2-82 of the SBMC and meets the five (5) year personal property tax
abatement criteria under§ 2-84 of the SBMC.
Mr. Yatish Joshin, the President of GTA Containers, Inc and Mr. Trybula the attorney for the
petitioner were available for questions. In response to a question from Council Member Kelly as
to how they selected the name "Foxtrot Realty",Mr. Joshin stated he loves ballroom dancing.
Following discussion, Dr. Varner made a motion, seconded by Council Member Kuspa that
substitute Bill No. 03-27 and Bill No. 3-28 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion
passed.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Council Member Kelly adjourned the
Committee meeting at 3:55 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Council Member Roland Kelly, Vice-Chairperson
Community and Economic Development Committee
KCF:kmf
Attachments
9
