SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL FEBRUARY 24, 2003 <br /> INFORMAL MEETING <br /> Bill No. 8-03 The Petitioner was not present for the Zoning and Annexation <br /> Committee meeting and therefore this bill will be continued <br /> until March 10, 2003. <br /> Bill No. 87-99 The Petitioner has asked that this bill be continued until the <br /> April 28, 2003 meeting of the Council. <br /> Bill No. 6-03 Ms. Karen Hammond-Nash, Director, Historic Preservation <br /> Commission is to provide information regarding this <br /> property. Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand <br /> advised that if this information is not received prior to the <br /> meeting and if the property owners are present, the Council <br /> could hear comments from them and then continue the bill. <br /> MOMENT OF SILENCE <br /> Council President White indicated that she will ask for a moment of silence prior to the start of the <br /> Council meeting in memory of Mr. Jon Hunt,Director,Department of Community and Economic <br /> Development,Mr. Jim Cole,Battalion Chief with the South Bend Fire Department and Mrs. Joyce <br /> Kelly, wife of Councilmember Kelly, who recently passed away. <br /> SEWER ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> President White noted that the Council should be ready to recommend individuals to serve on the <br /> Sewer Advisory Committee which will come together sometime in March. Councilmember Kirsits <br /> asked if the public should be asked for names of individuals interested in serving on this committee. <br /> President White asked that Councilmembers e-mail her and she will give them a call. <br /> ADOPTION OF PEACE RESOLUTION <br /> President White advised that the Council has been asked to adopt a "Peace Resolution" and she <br /> asked for comments by members. Councilmember King asked, as a matter of procedure, if a <br /> Resolution is forwarded to the Council if it has to go before the Council. Attorney Cekanski-Farrand <br /> advised that it must be sponsored by a Councilmember. Councilmembers Kirsits,Pfeifer,King and <br /> Aranowski noted that they would not be in favor of such a Resolution. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 6:59 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted: <br /> Loretta J.
