Chuck Bulot at Vice-Chairperson Davis' request reported that the BZA had ruled favorably by
unanimous vote on both exceptions. Representing the architectural firm hired by Real Services,
Bill Lemme outlined a need for additional off-street parking for Real Services addressed in 08-50.
The special exception required by the fact that this parcel was non-contiguous with other Real
Services property. Councilmember Tom LaFountain made a motion to recommend Bill No. 08-50
to the full Council favorably. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion. The motion carried.
The 08-51 exception request was for a building on the southeast corner of Garst and Main to
house the Meals on Wheel's program provided by Real Services. Councilmember Tom
LaFountain made a motion to recommend Bill No. 08-51 to the full Council with a favorable
recommendation. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion. The motion carried.
BILL NO.08-52 -SPECIAL EXCEPTION - OLIVER PLOW
Vice-Chairperson Oliver Davis called upon Chuck Bulot to report on the BZA's actions which were
unanimously favorable to grant the request.
Mike Danch of Danch, Harner & Associates, provided a site plan of the proposed exception. The
exception was requested by the city to accommodate the relocation of Underground Pipe & Valve
from the old Studebaker Foundry site to Oliver Plow Ct. The City has acquired the foundry site
and intends to demolish the buildings. The smaller Oliver Plow site needs an exception to allow
more outdoor storage than the zoning currently allows. Railroads screen the site to the north and
evergreen plantings would screen it to the west.
Ann Kolata, Senior Planner, Community & Economic Development, elaborated on the cities need
for approval to relocate Underground Pipe & Valve. Councilmember LaFountain made a motion
to recommend this bill to the full Council favorably. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion.
The motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the committee, Vice-Chairperson Oliver Davis
adjourned the meeting at 3:40 p.m.
Y~vi~i~e-Chairperson
& Annexation Committee
