&ommtttyt * o <br /> erzat iui ant( littantiz tammttt t <br /> The October 13, 2003 meeting of the Utilities Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, <br /> Council Member James Aranowski at 4:10 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Aranowski,Kelly,Pfeifer, King, Varner, White, <br /> Kirsits, Coleman and Kuspa; City Controller Rick 011ett, Director of the Division of Community <br /> Development Pam Meyer,and Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Aranowski noted that the Committee is composed of Dr. Varner who is its Vice- <br /> Chairperson, and Council Members Kelly and King. <br /> Council Member Aranowski then called for a presentation on Bill No. 68-03 which would set the <br /> annual salaries for the Mayor and the City Clerk for calendar 2004. <br /> Frederick B. 011ett, III, City Controller made the presentation on Bill No. 68-03 (copy attached). <br /> He noted that the proposed salary for the Mayor of$87,460 and the proposed salary for the City <br /> Clerk of $47,378 represent a 4% increase over the current salary amounts. Mr. 011ett noted that <br /> this percentage increase is consistent with the increase which the non-bargaining city employees <br /> will receive next year. <br /> Council Member King then made a motion, seconded by Council Member Kelly that Bill No. 68- <br /> 04 be recommended favorably to the Council. The motion passed. <br /> Council Member Aranowski then called for a presentation on Bill No. 79-03 which would <br /> appropriate $48,000 within the County Option Income Tax Fund (Fund 404) for the purpose of <br /> providing additional funding for the commercial corridor program. <br /> Pam Meyer, Director of the Division of Community Development made the presentation. Ms. <br /> Meyer stated that the Lincoln Way West Commercial Corridor Program has had two(2) payments. <br /> The first was $25,000 for the Teachers Credit Union building, and the one proposed in the <br /> ordinance for$48,000 for the parking lot. <br /> Council Member King then made a motion, seconded by Council Member Kelly that Bill No. 79- <br /> 04 be recommended favorably to the Council. The motion passed. <br /> Council Member Aranowski then called for a presentation on Bill No. 03-114 which would <br /> approve a lease for the rental of property located at 224 West Jefferson Boulevard to be used for <br /> general office space. <br /> Ms. Meyer, Director of the Division of Community Development made the presentation on Bill <br /> No. 03-114 (copy attached). She stated that this would be the 2nd three (3) year lease for office <br /> space in the Trigon Building. In response to a question from Council Member King, Ms. Meyer <br /> stated that the lease would be for 7,088 square feet of space in order to offer services of the <br /> Division of Community Development. She noted that there is one (1) vacant cubical, however it <br /> may be used in the future for the Weed and Seed program. <br /> Council Member King then made a motion, seconded by Council Member Kelly that Bill No. 03- <br /> 114 be recommended favorably to the Council. The motion passed. <br />
