REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 8, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 53-12 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA CONCERNING THE <br /> CURRENT REFUNDING OF <br /> OUTSTANDING WATERWORKS REVENUE <br /> BONDS OF 2002, ISSUED TO FINANCE <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO <br /> THE MUNICIPAL WATERWORKS OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF <br /> REVENUE BONDS FOR SUCH PURPOSE IN <br /> THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NO TO EXCEED <br /> FOUR MILLION TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND <br /> ($4,200,000); ADDRESSING OTHER MATTERS <br /> CONNECTED THEREWITH, INCLUDING THE <br /> ISSUANCE OF NOTES IN ANTICIPATION OF <br /> BONDS; AND REPEALING ORDINANCES <br /> INCONSISTENT HEREWITH <br /> <br />Councilmember Scott, Chairperson, Utilities Committee, reported that this committee held a <br />Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted to send it to the full Council with a favorable <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />st <br />Mr. Philip Faccenda, Jr., 600 1 Source Bank Center, 100 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, <br />made the presentation for this bill. <br /> <br />Mr. Faccenda advised that this bill would allow for the Indiana Sewage Works Revenue Bonds <br />of 2012 for financing sewage works projects for the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br /> <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to <br />this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council. <br />Councilmember Schey seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br />RISE AND REPORT <br />Councilmember Henry Davis made a motion to rise and report to the full Council. <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />_________________________ _________________________ <br />John Voorde, City Clerk Karen L.
