South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />management and all associated costs. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Blake, seconded by <br />Dr. Varner and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Development <br />Agreement with R.E.L/White Lodging. <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Contract for Sale of Land in the South <br />Bend Central Development Area. (St. <br />Joseph & Jefferson, R.E.L/White Lodging) <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Blake, seconded by <br />Dr. Varner and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Contract for Sale <br />of Land in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (St. Joseph & Jefferson, <br />R.E.L/White Lodging) <br />(3) Staff report on disposition of property in <br />the South Bend Central Development <br />Area. (237 N. Michigan, LaSalle Hotel) <br />Ms. Laurent noted that the Commission has <br />previously offered the property at 237 N. <br />Michigan Street, the historic LaSalle Hotel, <br />for disposition and redevelopment without a <br />successful bidder or project to emerge. The <br />Commission purchased the building <br />committed to its preservation, and we have <br />issued bid specifications seeking qualified <br />developers to construct residential <br />apartments, condominiums or a new hotel <br />use to bring the building back to life. <br />Staff has worked with several experienced <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE DEVELOPMENT <br />AGREEMENT WITH R.E.L/WHITE LODGING <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE CONTRACT FOR <br />SALE OF LAND IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA.
