BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AGENDA ITEM REVIEW REQUEST FORM

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FOR RIVER CROSSING #7

PROJECT NEED

The location of River Crossing 7 is in a field on the St. Mary’s Campus. St. Mary’s has provided a
path to the site, but the immediate path area leading to the site becomes mud after rain events. As
this site is the sole crossing to convey wastewater flow from areas around the Notre Dame Campus,
failure to maintain it could result in catastrophic sewage backups. Access to the structure with a
Combination Cleaning Machine is impossible when the site it wet. See Figures 1 & 2 below.

Foegley Landscape removed honeysuckle; cleared the area around the site and installed a geotextile
fabric and gravel at the site on behalf of the City. Because of their great performance during the
initial phase of the project, they were selected to quote on the second phase. Figures 3 through 5
below show how the site looked initially & the restoration made by both City personnel and Foegley.

Rutted access
path
Soft soil at fence
