It addresses rates <br />for , outh Bend Customers in the City's fumishment of Refuse, Sewer, Water, torm Water, and the <br />Low-Income Customer ssistance Program. <br />The main purpose of the revisions is to provide a sustainable, multi-year plan that meets the operational <br />and capital needs of South Bend utilities and solid waste by gradually adjusting rates to generate <br />sufficient cash flow. The gradual increases are based on the recommendations of a comprehensive <br />long-term rate plan commissioned by the City. <br />The ordinance revisions are necessary to ensure the long-term, sustainable, effective operations of <br />the City's refuse, sewer, water, and torm water utilities.
