• <br /> BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 7,459497 <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROVING PARKING RATES FOR PARKING <br /> GARAGES AND PARKING LOTS OWNED, LEASED AND <br /> OPERATED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY <br /> OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: I.C. 36-9-11-7 authorizes the <br /> Board of Public Works to fix the rates and charges to be collected for <br /> parking vehicles in parking facilities owned and operated by the City <br /> and for other use of those parking facilities so as to promote the <br /> maximum use of the facilities by the public in a safe, orderly, and <br /> efficient manner. Such rates fixed by the Board of Public Works are <br /> subject to the approval of the Common Council. The Council has <br /> received Resolution No. 35-1987 of the Board of Public Works, a copy of <br /> which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, which establishes <br /> rates for city-owned parking facilities, both parking garages and <br /> parking lots. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the South Bend Common Council, as <br /> follows: <br /> Section I. The following monthly rates shall be charged for <br /> individual vehicles parked at City owned and operated parking lots: <br /> Rate <br /> (a) Municipal services facility, $16.00 per mo. <br /> 700 block of West Sample. <br /> Section II. The following monthly rates shall be charged for <br /> vehicles parked at City owned and operated parking garages: <br /> Rate <br /> (a) Per vehicle, on a month to month basis $35.00 per mo. <br /> (b) Per vehicle, on a three year contract $38. 00 per md. <br /> (c) Per vehicle on a five year contract $42.00 per mo. <br /> (d) Group rates on a monthly contract <br /> 5 to 19 vehicles $32.00 per mo. <br /> 20 to 49 vehicles $29. 00 per mo. <br /> 50 or more vehicles $25.00 per mo. <br /> (e) Priority for committing parking spaces within a City owned and <br /> operated parking garage shall be given to vehicles with the longest <br /> term parking contract and the highest monthly rental rate.
