" . • r <br /> BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 71g9,04-7 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING SECTION <br /> 17-56 (a) OF CHAPTER 17 , ARTICLE 7 , COMMONLY <br /> KNOWN AS SEWER SERVICE FUND AND CHARGES <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br /> On September 15 , 1980, the South Bend Common Council passed <br /> Ordinance No. 6830-80 which revised an earlier law which establish- <br /> ed a sewer service fund. <br /> On October 12 , 1981 , the South Bend Common Council passed <br /> Ordinance No. 6970-81 reducing the sewer service charge to twenty- <br /> five cents (250 per month. <br /> Because of an increase in use of the fund by citizens with <br /> sewer problems it is necessary to increase the monthly service <br /> charge from twenty-five cents (25 ) per month to fifty cents (50 ) <br /> per month to provide adequate funding for the sewer repairs . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows : . <br /> Section I . Chapter 17 , Article 7 , Section 17-56 (a) of the <br /> Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows : <br /> (a) The sum of treaty-five-eents-(25(P} <br /> fifty cents (50 ) per month shall be <br /> added to sewer service charges for all <br /> sewer users which are not industrial or bulk <br /> water customers.
