BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 7,041'-g7 <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2,408, 100 FROM THE COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING <br /> THE EXPENSES OF THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DESIGNATED SUBGRANTEE <br /> AGENCIES FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1988 AND <br /> ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1988 TO BE ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE <br /> DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. <br /> Statement of Purpose and Intent: <br /> The government of the City of South Bend, in partnership with <br /> the City's private sector and residents, is committed to the goal <br /> of improving the "quality of life" in the City, its neighborhoods, <br /> and for its residents. As part of this commitment to a <br /> comprehensive community development and improvement program, the <br /> City of South Bend through its Division of Community Development <br /> will apply for and anticipates receiving on or about January 1, <br /> 1988, the approval of the United States Department of Housing and <br /> Urban Development to expend $2,408, 100. 00 in the execution of <br /> certain housing rehabilitation/assistance, code development, public <br /> service, and general program planning and development activities. <br /> In order to implement the aforementioned activities, funds are <br /> required. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the <br /> City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. The sum of $2,408,100.00 is hereby appropriated for <br /> the program year starting January 1, 1988, from the City of South <br /> Bend's Community Development Block Grant Fund (Program Year 1988) . <br /> The appropriation shall be used as approved by the United States <br /> Department of Housing and Urban Development under Title Twenty-four <br /> (24) of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part Five Hundred and <br /> Seventy (570) for the Community Development Program Year 1988. <br /> This appropriation shall be administered by the Division of <br /> Community Development and its designated subgrantees and will be <br /> distributed as set forth below: <br /> B-88-MC-18-0011 <br /> Community Development Program <br /> Purpose Project No. Amount <br /> Housing <br /> Bureau of Housing Management <br /> and Inspection CD88-101 $323,000 <br /> Renew, Inc.
