The purpose of the amendment is to designate the East Wayne Street <br /> area as an Historic Preservation District. <br /> At the May 18, 1987 Historic Preservation Commission meeting, the East Wayne <br /> Street Steering Committee presented the vote tally of the ballots for designation <br /> of the historic district which indicated that a majority of the residents were in <br /> favor of the designation.
