BILL NO. Ordinance No. --)-7q6-t7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA TO CREATE AN EAST WAYNE STREET HISTORIC PRESERVATION DISTRICT. STATEMENT OF PURPOSES AND INTENT TO ESTABLISH an Historic Preservation District , to be known as the East Wayne Street Historic District , with such uses as permitted in Section 21-36. 1 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, such District having been recommended by the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St . Joseph County, for the purpose of preserving the architectural , historical , and cultural significance and educational value of the described area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: SECTION 1 . Ordinance No. 4990-68, as amended, which ordinance is commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be and the same hereby is amended in order that the zoning classification of the following described real estate in the City of South Bend, St . Joseph County, State of Indiana: A parcel of land being a part of Section 7, Township 37 North , Range 3 East , Portage Township ; City of South Bend, all within Whitcomb & Keller's Sunnymede First Addition ; Being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Eddy Street and Jefferson Boulevard; thence running South along the Centerline of Eddy Street to a point of intersection with the South line of Lot 136 extended West ; thence East along said extended line and the South line of Lots 136 through 138 to the Southeast corner of Lot 138; thence Southwesterly 7 feet , more or less, along the East line of Lot 264 to the point of intersection with the Centerline of the first East-West alley South of East Wayne Street extended West ; thence Southeasterly along said Centerline to the West Right-of-Way line of Sunnyside Avenue ; thence Easterly 60 feet , more or less, to the point of intersection of the East Right-of-Way line of Sunnyside Avenue with the Centerline of the first East-West alley South of East Wayne Street South ; thence Easterly along the Centerline of said alley to the point of intersection of the Centerline of the first vacated North-South alley East of Sunnyside Avenue ; thence Easterly along the Centerline of the first vacated
