• <br /> BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. '7 7 (,,5'-7, <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 14 <br /> OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE REGULATING <br /> SPECIAL FUNDS. <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: This Ordinance is being amended <br /> in order to clarify the appropriation and use of City development <br /> fund monies. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION I. Chapter 2, Article 14, Section 2-155 of the South <br /> Bend Municipal Code is amended as follows: <br /> Sec. 2-155. City Development Fund. <br /> (a) A City Development Fund is created to be used to pay <br /> expenses incurred in promoting the betterment of the City, <br /> including, but not necessarily limited to the following: <br /> fa}(1) Membership dues in local, regional, state <br /> and national associations of a civic, educational or governmental <br /> nature which have as their purpose the betterment and improvement <br /> of municipal operations; <br /> f53.( 2) Direct expenses for travel, meals and <br /> lodging in conjunction with City business or meetings of <br /> organizations to which the City belongs; <br /> fe}( 3) Expenses incurred in the promotion of <br /> economic or industrial development for the City, including, but not <br /> limited to, meeting room rental, meals, decorations, travel, <br /> awards, memorabilia; <br /> fd}(4) Expenses incurred in interviewing job <br /> applicants; <br /> +e}(5) Expenses incurred in developing relations <br /> with other units of government; <br /> 44}( 6) Other expenses of a civic or governmental <br /> nature deemed to be in the best interest of the City. <br /> (b) Each year the City budget shall include separate <br /> sub-accounts within the City Development Fund for the Mayor, the <br /> Common Council, the Economic Development Department and other City <br /> entities or departments, as deemed appropriate by the Common <br /> Council, appropriating the amounts to be expended under each <br /> sub-account pursuant to subsection (a) of this Ordinance. <br /> (c) Each year the City budget may also include monies for <br /> promotional activities for the office of the Mayor, the Common <br /> Council, the Economic Development Department and other City <br /> entities as deemed appropriate by the Common Council. <br /> SECTION II .
