• CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />PETITION FOR REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT CONSIDERATION <br />The undersigned owner(s) of real property, located within the City of South Bend, hereby <br />petition the Common Council of the City of South Bend for real property tax abatement <br />consideration and pursuant to I.C.. 6-1.1-12.1-1, et sea., and South Bend Municipal Code <br />Sec. 2-76 et sea.. for this petition states the following: <br />1. Describe the proposed redevelopment or rehabilitation project, including information <br />about physical improvements to be made, the proposed use of the improvements, <br />and a general statement as to the importance of the project to your business: <br />This office building is located at 1433 Northside Blvd. in South Bend, and was <br />purchased by River Rock, Inc., a real estate holding company for Force 5 Media, Inc. <br />on April 14, 2008. The building was previously owned by the LaSalle Council, Boy <br />Scouts of America. Force 5 Media is a 5 year old company in South Bend, and <br />specializes in marketing and advertising. Force 5 Media is in the process (State of <br />Indiana) of being a certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE). The office building <br />is approx. 46 years old. The purchase of the building includes 5 parcels of land. <br />Proposed renovations will include the replacement of the roof, electrical <br />• enhancements, computer line infrastructure, new ceilings and flooring, <br />kitchen/break room plumbing improvements, and exterior repair and painting. <br />These repairs and renovations are necessary to the success of the new business <br />in this location. The expansion of the current business from a leased space to <br />the new fully owned space will also allow for additional employees to be hired as <br />new projects demand. <br />Land Size .8176 <br />acres; Building Size 5,432 sq. ft. <br />2. Describe the overall nature of the business and of the operations occurring at the <br />Property (attach additional sheet if more space is needed): <br />Force 5 Media, Inc. is an advertising and marketing company currently located in <br />leased space in downtown South Bend. The company currently has 8 employees <br />assigned to a variety of tasks relative to advertising and marketing for a number of <br />clients. The operations include the design and creation of web sites, video and <br />audio production for broadcast, design and production for magazine ads, billboards, <br />brochures, etc., and strategic marketing planning. <br />Force 5 Media's clients include a number of local companies, as well as companies <br />with a national scope. Current clients include: Notre Dame Pre-College, Saint <br />(Rev 10/23/06) ~ <br />
