ORDINANCE NO. ~ `°~ ~P b <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FROM VARIOUS ACCOUNTS: $2,000,000 <br />FROM UDAG FUND (#410); $110,000 FROM EDIT FUND (#408); AND $105,000 FROM <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FUND (#288) <br />FOR VARIOUS COSTS <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />In order to adjust the City's finances in 2008 as a result of costs which were projected but <br />not precisely known when the 2008 budget was adopted, it is necessary to make specific <br />appropriations from various City funds. It is further necessary to make appropriations for other <br />expenses previously budgeted, payment of which was delayed for reasons outside City <br />management control. The appropriations within this ordinance are the following: <br />1. UDAG Fund #410 -Appropriate $1,000,000 for zoo repairs. This was originally <br />approved in 2007, but the contract process was not completed. <br />2. UDAG Fund #410 -Appropriate $1,000,000 for City's financial investment in the <br />Notre Dame Nanotechnology Center. <br />3. EDIT Fund #408 -Appropriate $110,000 in unencumbered funds for Project <br />Future billings not paid in 2007. <br />4. Emergency Medical Services Fund #288 -Appropriate $105,000 for Phase I of <br />the Training Tower Project, of which $100,000 is Indiana State grant funds and <br />$5,000 is a donation from Wal Mart. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA as follows: <br />Section I. The sum of $2,000,000 is hereby appropriated and set aside within UDAG <br />Fund #410, of which $1,000,000 is for zoo repairs and $1,000,000 is for the City's <br />investment share of the Notre Dame Nanotechnology Center. <br />Section II. The sum of $110,000 is hereby appropriated and set aside within EDIT Fund <br />#408 for the City's financial obligation to Project Future. <br />Section III, The sum of $105,000 is hereby appropriated and set aside within Emergency <br />Medical Services Fund #288 for Phase I costs of the Training Tower Project. <br />
