205 <br />The Board met.in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present, <br />Bond of C. H. Defrees filed and approved on Portage avenue Brick Pavement. <br />Contract signed for same. <br />Application filed by John DeWilde for position as Inspector on City Work. <br />Application filed by Leonard Kalimiski for position as Inspector on City Work. <br />I. I. & I. R. R. Co were notified to bring their tracks to grade at the intersection <br />of Michigan avenue. <br />Engineer filed Assessnent :rolls and final estimates for the following improvements,- <br />Gra�i�n on Michigan avenue from Wilber street to a point 120 ft west of Johnson street, <br />SewernConnections on Laurel street from Washington street to Colfax avenue, Scott street <br />from Michigan avenue to Colfax avenue, Studebaker street from Washington street to Linden <br />avenue, Water Connections on Laurel street from Washington street to Colfax avenue, <br />Robertson street from Chapin street to Prairie avenue, Studebaker street from Washington <br />street to Linden avenue. <br />. Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six con- <br />secutive days in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing <br />on the loth day of May, 1905, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of <br />such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 23rd, day of May, 1905, at 27;15 P.M <br />Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and <br />approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be <br />published on the loth day of May, 1905, in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend <br />Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such <br />work at its office in the City _Hall on the 23rd, day of May, 1905 at 7:15 P. M. <br />President. <br />TUESDAY EVENING SPECIAL SESSION AT 7:15 P. M. MAY 9TH9 1905. <br />The Board met in Special Session at 7:15 P. M. All members present. <br />Hearing given on Assessment Roll for awards of:damages and assessment of benefits <br />in the matter of the condemnation of property for the opening of William street, under <br />Condemnation Resolution No. 19, adopted on the 4th day of March, 1905. <br />In the above matter a remonstrance was filed by Chas A. Nobile--Wilhelmina Ginz, <br />by her attorney F. M. Jackson, remonstrated against the amount of her assessment --Caroline <br />C. Matthews, by her attorney Daniel Rich, remonstrated against.the amount of her award. <br />The Board find that the property affected is damaged and benefitted respectively in <br />the amounts shown on the.assessment roll adopted on the 9th day of April, 1905. The Board <br />therefore find that the above and all other remonstrances should be in all things over- <br />rulled. The Board further find that the assessment roll adopted on the Sth day of April, <br />1905, should be and the same is hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />President. <br />
