The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present. Bond of Sidman & Staples on South Bend Avenue Grade filed and approved and contract s ignedfor save. Engineer reported grade on Olive street, Ka.ley street, Meade street, Division street and Lawrence street. Same was approved. The Fonoreb le Board of Public Works Gentlmen;-- I herewith attach form of notice I have sent to different Cement walk contractors, who constructed walks in 1903 with a year -guarantee and whose work has developed some defective blocks. The following ist he list. H. N. Barnes, Emerson avenue, Sadie street and Woodward avenue. T. C. Barnes, Indiana avenue Notre Dame avenue ' C. H. Defrees, Allen street, St. Joseph street. Tom Bauer, Bowman street, Irdiana avenue. C. C. Shively, Miami street, Calvert street. Siders Bros, Indiana avenue. Joa Swiatowy, pennsylaania avenue M. S. Rogers, Poland street. W. Tear Sir; -- You are hereby notified that I have made a personal examination of the sidewalks on ________street, constructed by you under contract during 1903, and find a nulfber of defective and cracked eement blocks and which must be replaced within thirty (30) days from the recei-t of this. notice. Resolved, that notices as to the >mount of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the Southend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune com- mencing on the 27th day of July, 1904, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 9th, day of August, 1�04 at 7:15 P. M. Resolved further, that the entire work under the.ebovere contract be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 27t h day of July, 1904 in the South B end .Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune stating that this Board will give a hearing upon the accept- ance of such work at its office in the City Fall on the 9th day of August, 1904 at 7;75
